hey guys, today's life group lesson and church service were both really good, I just wanted to share some of what we talked about today. we were talking about discipline, and moving God, and God's word to center stage. I remember back in church camp we were talking about priorities, and how most people make the smallest things, such as brushing your teeth, a larger priority than spending time with God , reading His word. That is rediculous. Brushing teeth.. or spending time with the Creator. The comparison is so stupid! anyway, a verse we read and my leader wants us to memorize, is 1 Timothy 4:7 - But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. Another translation of that is- (this is some of the verses surrounding verse 7) Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. As my leader summarized it: Discipline yourself in the goodness of godliness. She was talking also about, how, we must discipline ourselves to stay diligent to God's word, etc. She said that, think if.. you were a musician, and an amazing musician came to visit you. They encouraged you, gave you tips, etc. After they leave, wouldn't you be more diligent, and work harder? Or, if you are an athlete, and an olympic winner came to talk to you, wouldn't you work harder after hearing from them? Most likely, yes! We go to church, or church camp or something, often we get encouraged, pushed and we get desire to read God's word, to stay diligent and loyal to spending time with Him. Then after a few days,, we blow it off, forget, don't care, whatever. He is GOD! Yet we care so much more about things of the world than God. There was once a guy who paid over 3 million dollars just to have 1 lunch with this really famous, amazing, brilliant financial adviser.. yet, we have constant, everlasting access to speak with God, the creator of all, the King of all kings, can you believe it? I can't. Truly. Its crazy, were so blessed to be loved by God. Its so humbling! God is so crazy amazing. Never, ever, ever freaking stops amazing me. has God done anything fantastical in your life lately? ;) I wanna know!
also, any prayer requests?
We fall. He stands. We sin. He saves. We're weak. He's strong. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8
Hope you have a blessed Sunday. Please help by sharing my link and/or blog button! Thanks<3

This is a great post Laura! God I truly amazing and always there for us, but we hardly ever actually spend time with him! It's crazy! God has done a fantastical thing or two in my life lately, email me and I'll tell you. It's a bit of a long story to explain on here. And yes, as usual I have some prayer requests.
